For many years fraudulent flash memory wholesale sites in Asia have been using little stickers indicating capacity size for usb flash drives. SOSFakeFlash has many reports from victims on eBay who bought them.


It is usually a shiny silver sticker that changes in the light, similar to a hologram. Over the years it has become one of the classic signs for a generic fake capacity usb flash drive. These stickers range in printed size from 4GB to 512GB. Fakes usually start at 8GB these days. They are easy to place on the flash drives and very low cost. It is also a sign of a cheap price, at least for the importer. Would a respectable and proud manufacturer of flash memory use a sticky label? It is not professional. If you see a label like this on a usb flash drive you purchased, beware and test the real capacity immediately before using.
